Rules for Travel Between Izmir Seferihisar – Greece Samos and Aydın Kuşadası – Greece Samos

 

RULES FOR TRAVEL BETWEEN IZMIR SEFERIHISAR – GREECE SAMOS ve AYDIN KUŞADASI – GREECE SAMOS 

1. CHECK – IN

  • To travel between Izmir Seferihisar – Samos and Aydın Kuşadası – Samos, the passenger's passport must be valid for at least 3 months. (The validity period must cover at least 3 months from the return date from Samos to Turkey.)
  • Even if the passport is valid, passports older than 10 years are not allowed for entry into Greece.
  • A passport and visa are required to travel between Izmir Seferihisar – Samos and Aydın Kuşadası – Samos. The visa can be either a Schengen visa or a "Port Visa."
  • Turkish citizens departing with a Turkish passport must pay an exit fee for each departure. This fee must be paid by the passenger before the journey. The exit fee can be paid at authorized banks, online, or at our Seferihisar Teos Marina sales office.
  • Passengers departing from Seferihisar to Samos must be present at the Seferihisar Sığacık Teos Marina Sales Office to complete the check-in process at least 1.5 hours before the departure time.
  • Passengers departing from Kuşadası to Samos must be present at the Kuşadası Ege Port Sales Office to complete the check-in process at least 1.5 hours before the departure time.
  • After passing the passport control, ticket checks will be carried out at the ship entrance.
  • Passengers with canceled, rescheduled, or open tickets are not allowed to board.

2. SITUATIONS WHERE EXIT FROM TURKEY OR ENTRY INTO GREECE IS NOT PERMITTED

  • Passengers with a Northern Cyprus (K.K.T.C.) stamp in their passport are not allowed to enter Greece. If a passenger attempts to enter Greece with such a stamp, they are considered to have accepted the legal and financial responsibility in advance. İDO is not responsible for passengers who are denied entry due to this reason.
  • If there are judicial, administrative, or visa-related issues preventing the passenger from entering or exiting, for reasons not caused by İDO, the service contract will terminate, and no refund requests will be accepted.
  • Passports showing a place of birth in Northern Cyprus or indicating Northern Cyprus (e.g., "Girne-KKTC") will not be accepted for entry into Greece.
  • If a Schengen visa was obtained from a country other than Greece, the passenger must first enter and exit that country before being allowed entry into Samos.

3. PASSENGER TICKETS

  • Passengers must purchase their ticket using the exact name as written in their passport. Tickets issued in the name of a passenger cannot be transferred, resold, or have the name changed.

Ticket Refund & Change Policy:

  • According to the "Distance Contracts Regulation" dated 27.11.2014, under the chapter titled "Third Section," which regulates "The Use of the Right to Withdraw and the Obligations of the Parties," the right of withdrawal does not apply to "Passenger Transport Services."
  • It is stated that passengers cannot request changes to their ticket details, including passenger name, date, time, and route, after the purchase. The buyer accepts and undertakes not to request any changes or refunds once the ticket is purchased.
  • However, the passenger may change the ticket to an open ticket or reschedule it once, provided that they notify the relevant sales office at least 24 hours before the departure time.

Open Tickets:

  • Open tickets can only be rescheduled if there is availability on the requested date. To reschedule an open ticket, the passenger must contact İDO sales offices at least 3 days before the desired departure. İDO sales offices are located in Seferihisar at Sığacık Teos Marina and in Kuşadası at Ege Port.
  • Open tickets that are not used by the last departure of the season will become invalid. Open tickets must be used within the same season.

4. TRIP CANCELLATION / CHANGES

  • İDO is obliged to carry out its scheduled trips unless otherwise announced. İDO reserves the right to modify or cancel trips in cases of extraordinary or force majeure circumstances, such as adverse weather and sea conditions, the deactivation of port facilities, strikes, or the stoppage of trips by official authorities.
  • If İDO cancels a trip due to extraordinary and force majeure circumstances, the ticket fee will be refunded to the passenger within 30 days. İDO is not responsible for accommodation or other expenses incurred due to cancellations caused by extraordinary circumstances.
  • The ship’s captain may cancel or change the departure/arrival port for passenger safety during adverse weather and sea conditions.

5. SPECIAL REQUESTS / PASSENGERS TRAVELING WITH PETS

  • Passengers with special conditions (allergies, illnesses, etc.) must notify the İDO Sales Office at least 48 hours before the trip. İDO sales offices are located in Seferihisar at Sığacık Teos Marina and in Kuşadası at Ege Port.
  • Pets are not allowed on trips to the Aegean islands.

Passengers with Bicycles:

  • Passengers wishing to travel with bicycles on Seferihisar - Samos or Kuşadası - Samos trips must inform İDO during ticket reservation. Each ship has a capacity for 10 bicycles.

Passengers with Guide Dogs:

  • Visually impaired passengers accompanied by trained guide dogs may travel with their dogs in the passenger lounge.

Documents required for guide dogs:

  • Guide Dogs Association ID
  • Dog’s vaccination card
  • Guide dog harness
  • In case of necessity, a hospital report for the visually impaired passenger.
  • Guide dogs must travel with a body harness and a muzzle during the trip.

6. LUGGAGE

  • Passengers may bring only one suitcase or hand luggage.
  • İDO does not charge an extra fee for this luggage.
  • İDO reserves the right to charge for excess baggage beyond the specified allowance. İDO may refuse to carry excess baggage.
  • İDO is not responsible for any hand luggage (unless damaged due to İDO’s fault).
  • Wheelchairs used by passengers are accepted on board for free in addition to the regular baggage allowance.
  • According to international rules, İDO has the right to refuse to transport prohibited items as baggage. Passengers cannot seek compensation for items not accepted for transport.
  • Passengers cannot carry valuable items, metals, documents, checks, cash, breakable or perishable items, passports, or ID cards in their luggage. İDO is not responsible for any damage or loss of such items and will not compensate for them.

8. RIGHT OF SEARCH

  • For safety and security reasons, İDO may ask passengers to allow themselves and their baggage to be searched. Searches may be conducted in the passenger's absence if necessary.
  • If a passenger refuses to comply, İDO reserves the right to refuse transportation of the passenger and/or their baggage.

9. ONBOARD CONDUCT

  • Passengers must follow onboard regulations. If a passenger behaves in a manner that violates onboard regulations, İDO reserves the right to take necessary precautions, including restraining the passenger. Passengers must follow the instructions of the captain and crew. Passengers cannot engage in behaviors that endanger the safety of others or the ship.

10. REFUSAL OF TRANSPORTATION

  • İDO reserves the right to refuse transportation of passengers or baggage for security reasons or at its discretion in situations where the passenger may pose a risk or danger to others or property, fails to comply with İDO’s instructions, or refuses security checks.

11. LIMITED TRANSPORTATION

  • Children under the age of 16 may only travel with a companion.
  • Unaccompanied minors, disabled passengers requiring assistance, pregnant women, or ill passengers must notify İDO in advance and receive approval for the trip. İDO is not responsible for any deterioration in the health of a passenger during the trip.

12. DISCOUNTED TICKETS

  • Children between the ages of 6-12 can travel at a 50% discount.

13. EMBARKATION AND DISEMBARKATION

  • Tickets purchased for any trip are valid only for the trip specified on the ticket. Tickets not used in time are void.
  • Passengers are responsible for checking the accuracy of the information on the ticket. Later objections will not be accepted.
  • Boarding and disembarking without crew approval or necessary safety measures is dangerous and prohibited.

15. WAIVER

  • No agent, employee, or representative of the carrier is authorized to modify or waive these terms.

16. PRIVACY

  • Privacy is of utmost importance. İDO is committed to protecting customer personal data. By visiting the website and/or conducting online transactions, passengers agree to the privacy terms mentioned. İDO may collect personal information such as name, surname, address, phone number, email, passport details, ticket, and travel information. The information may be used to improve services, create databases, and notify customers about promotions, campaigns, and offers via email, SMS, or phone.

17. CHANGES

  • İDO reserves the right to change any part of these terms at any time if necessary.
